#90 Telephone Warning!

This message was passed on to me by a client not to long ago and I wanted to share it with you:

I dialed ' 0 ' and asked the operator who did confirm that this was correct so please pass it on.

PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service technician (could also be Telus) who was conducting a test on the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine( 9 ), zero( 0 ), the pound sign ( # ), and then hang up.

Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.

Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number. I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons.

DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE !!

The GTE Security Department requested that I share this information with EVERYONE I KNOW.

After checking with Verizon they said it was true, so do not dial 90# for anyone!

Motivational Speeches

I wanted to take this moment to mention to all our readers about this experience I had. I was invited by Corene Warnock, A Business Development Officer for Scotia Bank to a Motivational Speakers breakfast. I will admit, I am not usually found at these types of functions. In fact I would have only been there because I was asked to go listen to Michael Vickers.

I went, and the whole drive there to Cardel Home Amphitheatre presentation center. I was thinking that the 2 hours I am here, I could be on the phone with my clients?

I was and am so very impressed and privileged to have gone to this power-lifting seminar on “Service to My Clients”. I would tell a mom and dad to go, any professional of any type of business, any non-professional and most importantly any friend I know would feel like they went to the tallest mountain took a deep breath and stared in awe! Michael Vickers has a book called Becoming Preferred and a copy would be a great gift to yourself and anyone you wish to gain a peace of mind and success for.

Meet our New Mortgage Associate

I wanted to introduce everyone to Kathy Karpa, my new business associate. Kathy has just started working with me in my office as of mid March 2006. Kathy brings with her a great deal of mortgage knowledge that will be complimented with her pleasant personality. Known for her organizational skills, Kathy is responsible for processing the paperwork for all mortgages placed through the company. She is familiar with the administrative processes of both private and institutional mortgages. Feel free to call Kathy with any questions.

I have known Kathy for a few years and we at one time in the past worked as agents at another Brokerage. As any business grows, as does the needs of that business, which in my business our clients services are what makes our business. I will be making more of those one on one calls and visits. I will also be focusing more on clients files past, present and future. Kathy will be keeping the paper work flowing behind the scenes and in doing so she will be making calls to ensure that the documents needed will be collected. Prime has had 7 increases of .25% since May 2004, going from 3.75% to currently sitting at 5.50%. The 5 year fixed rate mortgages have gone from weekly average posted rate of 6.40% on May 12, 2004 to 6.45% today.
